Our Founder, Dr. Francine Pole has served in leadership roles during her professional career but her passion has always been horses. Fran’s love of horses started when she was five years old and wanted to be a cowboy. She then passed that love onto her husband Carl and their daughter Shannon. All three spent their lives together raising, training, riding, and revering these majestic creatures.
Francine L. Pole, Ed. D. is a determined woman who has never let being thrown keep her from succeeding. At nine years old, after nagging relentlessly for a horse, her father bought her a horse, which he thought would end her desire for a horse, Boots. Boots was a horse who reared relentlessly. It was a long and arduous process to learn to ride but Fran persevered and looks upon those often difficult days as some of the best of her childhood. Thus her father’s prediction failed causing just the opposite to become true as it instilled in Fran a deep love and appreciation for all things equine. She learned early on how important it is to get back on the horse. Dr. Pole attended the Florida Atlantic University where she received a BS in Ed., MS in Ed., Ed S., finalizing with a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She served in the public school system for many years as a teacher and administrator and now uses the compassion and strength that made her such an influential educator to care for the horses at their barn.
Their daughter, Shannon, had little choice but to develop a rider’s spirit with Carl & Fran for parents. She was on a horse from the time she was an infant and had her own (Lil’ Red) by the time she was three. She learned some of her most memorable life lessons from her horse Lil’ Red.
